Commencement Ceremony Information
All students who apply for graduation and receive a graduation invitation by
e-mail are eligible to participate in the Mount Pleasant campus commencement
ceremony. Diplomas are not distributed during the graduation ceremonies.
Students who are eligible receive their diplomas, transcripts and commencement
ceremony program by mail without additional notification.
Specific schedule information for the Mount Pleasant commencement ceremonies
will be sent to you through your cmich. e-mail account approximately one month
prior to the ceremony.
Your local program center may also host a commencement ceremony. Please see your
program center's website at www.cel.cmich.edu/locations for commencement ceremony
information or contact your Program Administrator.
Commencement Ceremony Instructions
Commencement is divided by degrees in the ceremonies as listed below.
Graduates must attend the ceremony in which their degree is listed. For
detailed ceremony instructions please click on the time of your commencement
ceremony.

Commencement Tickets
Each graduate participating in the commencement ceremony
receives
six tickets which admit guests
to the Events Center. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets
must be picked up in person by the graduate during the dates and times specified
in your commencement ceremony instructions (see above). You still need to pick up your tickets
in Rose 125 if you preordered your
apparel. Tickets will not be mailed. No additional tickets are available.
On Saturday, CMU staff can assist you in getting tickets to your family and
guests by delivering them to the Ticket Central will-call window.
Graduation Apparel
Caps and gowns may be preordered March 21 through April 21
at www.cmubookstore.com,
or purchased in person during the dates and times specified in your commencement
ceremony instructions (see above). Please see below for pricing information.

$55.00 (includes tax) for purchase of cap, gown and tassel |

Graduate: |
$80.00 (includes tax) for purchase of cap, gown, hood, and tassel |
|
Doctoral: |
Option 1: You may rent your gown and hood for $52.50. You keep the cap. The gown
and hood are returned immediately following the ceremony.
Option 2: You may purchase your hood and cap and rent the gown for $169.35. You
keep the hood and cap, but return the gown immediately following the ceremony. |
Off-Campus & Online Programs Graduation Reception
CMU Off-Campus & Online Programs will be hosting a reception honoring Off-Campus
& Online Programs graduates and their guests. The reception will include a brief
welcome and remarks from Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, Vice President of Off-Campus &
Online Programs. Hors d'oeuvres, and beverages will be provided. There is no
cost for this event. If you are able to attend please complete the
RSVP form.

Commencement Brunch
Central Michigan University will be hosting a brunch for
all CMU graduates on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the
Bovee University Center Rotunda Ballroom. Please click

Diploma Plaque
CMU Off-Campus & Online Programs offers a cherry finished hardwood plaque with a
Plexiglas cover to display your diploma. Central Michigan University is carved
into the wood to create a professional display of the culmination of all your
hard work. The plaque costs $20 and can be ordered by using the
order form.
