What is MIVER?

 

Military Installation Voluntary Education Review (MIVER) is a project sponsored by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps to assess the quality of voluntary education programs at selected military installations and to assist in the improvement of voluntary education programs through appropriate recommendations to institutions, installations, and the military services.

 

Marine Corps Base – Camp Pendleton, CA (February 2007):

COMMENDATION: The Central Michigan on-site program administrator and academic advisors at Camp Pendleton are commended for their exemplary and dedicated service to the students.

COMMENDATION: Central Michigan University is commended for its comprehensive system of student academic advisement.

COMMENDATION: Central Michigan University and its Off-Campus Library Services are commended for providing exemplary access to a wide array of relevant library resources and services through electronic, paper and human interaction with Camp Pendleton students and faculty.

 

Minot Air Force Base, ND (August 2007):

COMMENDATION: Central Michigan University’s Off-Campus Library Services (OCLS) is commended for the library services and support provided for the students and faculty at Minot AFB.

COMMENDATION: Central Michigan University is commended for developing extensive and comprehensive assessment systems that evaluate faculty, courses, and curriculum to ensure continued growth and development.

COMMENDATION: CMU is commended for their long-standing commitment to serving the education needs of students by providing graduate programs that integrate current theory and practice.
