End-of-Course Assessments
The following End-of-Course Assessments are available for review. CMU global id
and password are required for access.
Background on Assessment Tools
The End-of-Course Survey was revised to measure the principles of teaching
effectiveness that are outlined in The Articulation of the Faculty Role (Maximizing
Learning). The questions were revised to provide you with more focused
feedback on your performance in the classroom. There are two versions of the
End-of-Course Survey. Following are samples of each type:
- Face-to-face course survey (f2f EOC
survey, comment sheet)
- Web-based course survey (web-based courses)
The two versions vary only slightly. The student Comment Sheet was also revised.
All students - face to face, web course - are asked to comment on the same three
questions:
- Please describe one specific learning activity that was particularly useful in
helping you to meet the learning objectives of this course. For example,
learning activities can be take-home assignments, reading materials, class
projects, or case studies, etc.
- Please describe any factor or situation that impeded your learning in this
course.
- What specific suggestions do you have to make this course a better learning
experience?
Instructor End-of-Course Survey
In December 2003, the Instructor End-of-Course Survey was created to capture
your experiences teaching adult students in non-traditional formats. Although
not required, we suggest that you take this valuable opportunity to reflect upon
your teaching and to share with administrators any issues you may have had that
either positively or negatively affected your ability to provide a productive
learning environment. The Instructor End-of-Course Survey will ask you to
evaluate yourself and your course against the same 8 principles of teaching
effectiveness that the students complete in their end-of-course survey. A sample
of the Instructor
End-of-Course Survey is available.
