Whether you are considering administration at a college or university, the central office level or going on to district administration the Ed.S./Ed.D. Ladder Program from Central Michigan University is a solid, practice and research based progression that leads to both an Education Specialist degree and a Doctorate of Education.
The Ed.S. in General Educational Administration is a 33 credit hour program that can open doors to positions in college or university administration, school superintendency, agency administration, site management, budgeting and other leadership positions.
After you earn the Ed.S. degree, you have the option of continuing on to earn your Ed.D. with 27 credits from your Ed.S. transferring directly into your doctoral program.
The Ed.D. program is an additional 36 credit hours and encompasses 6 hours of research requirements, 15 hours of academic core courses, qualifying exams, and a dissertation.
The Ed.S./Ed.D. ladder program started Fall Term 2009. Space is still available in the Ed.S. program and in the Ed.S./Ed.D. ladder program. Students may apply for late admittance to the program but must first consult with Dr. Sarah Marshall sarah.marshall@cmich.edu or Dr. Betty Kirby betty.kirby@cmich.edu. Students will be required to take some coursework at the Mt. Pleasant campus.
