Flexible Delivery
CMU courses are offered during three semesters per year. Fall, Spring and
Summer. Within each semester there are two, sometimes three, 8-week terms.
- Online: Web courses are delivered using CMU's instructional delivery
tool, Blackboard. Students log into their online courses to access lectures,
submit assignments, take quizzes, and communicate with their instructor and
other students. Some classes also meet online at scheduled times for chat
sessions, but generally students may log in at their own convenience.
Frequent class login is recommended and encouraged.
- Center-based classes: Courses held in the classroom at our CMU centers
nationwide are offered in:
- Weekend format, meeting typically 3 alternating
weekends. Class could be offered Friday night and Saturday day or Saturday and
Sunday or
- Weeknight, meeting 4 hours to 4 hours and 45 minute blocks of time,
spread over 7 to 9 meetings within the term.
- Hybrid: Hybrid courses combine face-to-face and online formats with 50%
or more of the timeframe being online rather than face-to-face. The instructor
will determine meeting times and method per course.
Course offerings can be viewed online through the online
course schedule
