The Connecting Link and CMU
Central Michigan University has an alliance with The Connecting Link (TCL), an
educational training company that offers a wide range of professional
development classes for educators, both online and site-based throughout
Michigan. Through this alliance, K-12 teachers are able to enroll in TCL courses
and earn three hours of graduate-level credit through CMU.
Registration is handled through The Connecting Link. For a list of all courses
available to teachers in Michigan, please visit

Credit Relevance to Recertification
The CMU graduate credit awarded for TCL courses is designed for use toward
professional certificate renewal, rather than provisional certificate renewal
leading towards professional certification.
TCL courses may not substitute for regularly designed courses in degree programs
unless determined by the respective department.
CMU Credit Registration
TCL will provide you with CMU registration materials. An overview of the process
follows:
- You will need to complete the CMU credit registration form and the non-degree
graduate admission application provided by TCL and return both forms to TCL.
Note: If you are already a CMU graduate student, please consult with your
academic advisor prior to enrolling in a TCL course to ensure that the course
can be applied to your program plan.
- TCL will send completed registration materials to CMU for processing and
admission after the course is completed.
- Tuition for the CMU credit is inclusive of the TCL course fee.
- Grade are posted online at iCentral 4-6
weeks after the course end date.
